Brighton’s Jacob Stevenson made it two years in a row as he defeated 32 Minigolfers in the third annual BMGA Brighton Open to lift the trophy at Peter Pan’s 12-hole Peter Adventure Golf course on Madeira Drive, Brighton on Saturday 21st June.

In the largest field the tournament has seen to date, which included nine Brighton players, Jacob won with incredibly rounds of 23, 24, 24, 25 for a four round total of 96 (-4) and was a wire-to-wire leader in the tournament.

The battle for second and third place was won by British number 3 Tim Davies from Hastings with a total of 99 (-1), who was followed by current Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Champion Chris Harding from Birmingham, who was making his first visit to the course and scored 101 (+1).

There was also an Aces Champion prize for the player with the most holes-in-one in the tournament and this was won by the Brighton & Hove Minigolf Club’s Matt Lelliott who beat Ruth Bullin, Bill Bullin, Jacob Stevenson and course owner Roy Morris in a play-off after they had all achieved 6 Aces over four rounds. As a prize Lelliott received a framed painting of the course’s 10th hole by Brighton Artist Paul Stapleton.

The next tournament on the British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour will see players heading to Hastings for the BMGA British Championships on the 12th & 13th July.
