Richard Penfound beats Den Exall in BMGA British Matchplay Championships

Heading into the quarter finals of the inaugural BMGA British Matchplay Championships is Captain of the Brighton & Hove Minigolf Club, Richard ‘Cut Throat’ Penfound, who defeated Tunbridge Wells Minigolf Club member Den ‘The Deacon’ Exall by one-hole at the Hastings Seafront Crazy Golf course on Monday 1st July.

Penfound joins Anthony Pope of Sealand who sealed his place in the quarter finals following a win over Midlands Minigolf Club member Jam Trubridge.

The inaugural BMGA British Matchplay Championship is running throughout 2008, the tenth anniversary year of the BMGA. Matches are played at Crazy and Minigolf courses around the UK with players attempting to qualify for the final and the chance to win a three-figure sum. Valuable ranking points will also be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th places (400, 300, 200, and 100 respectively).
