All four Quarter Final Matches in the 2008 BMGA British Matchplay Championships have been completed and the four players moving forward to the Semi Final stage are Kevin Botto, Andy Exall, Tim Davies and Trevor Exall.
In results from the four matches:
- Kevin 'Legendus Maximus' Botto beat Seve Kukielka 4&3 at Victoria Park, Bath on 27th September
- Richard 'Cut Throat' Penfound lost to Andy 'No2' Exall 3&2 at Peter Pan's Adventure Golf, Brighton on 28th September
- Bill Bullin lost to Tim 'Ace Man' Davies 4&2 at Hastings Adventure Golf on 28th September
- Trevor 'Pumbah' Exall beat Anthony 'His Excellency' Pope 4&3 at Hastings Mini Golf on 29th September
Kevin 'Legendus Maximus' Botto, of the Brighton Minigolf Club, said of his win over Seve Kukielka “The match was very back and forth for the first 8 or 9 holes and the course at Bath was a nice enjoyable course to play.”
Tunbridge Wells Minigolf Club member Andy 'No2' Exall said of his win against Richard 'Cut Throat' Penfound “Well played Cut-Throat, it was a very enjoyable game.”
Tim ‘Ace Man’ Davies of the Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club said of his win over Bill Bullin “It was a very good game played in the right spirit.”
Trevor 'Pumbah' Exall of the Tunbridge Wells Minigolf Club said of his victory over Anthony 'His Excellency' Pope “Thanks a lot for the game Anthony, I really enjoyed it.”
The 23 matches in the BMGA British Matchplay Championships played so far this season have taken place on a total of nine different BMGA Affiliate Minigolf Courses.
The inaugural BMGA British Matchplay Championship is running throughout 2008, the tenth anniversary year of the BMGA, with players attempting to qualify for the final and the chance to win a three-figure sum. Valuable ranking points will also be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th places (400, 300, 200, and 100 respectively).
The Semi Final draw will take place at 8pm on Monday 6th October 2008.
